In a bid to help tenants be safer online, AllianceHousing held a cyber security workshop in April.

DND Marketing’s David Byatt was the guest speaker forthe event, with eight residents and tenants attending.

Mr Byatt gave a short overview on several topics toarm attendees with the knowledge and skills to be safer online and while usingIT devices.

He covered scams, social media, emails links, hacking,importance of updating software, phone access codes, how to make devices moresecure and iCloud.

Mr Byatt also helped attendees who brought in theirdevices to rectify or advise on any issues that they were having with them.

He also advised on simple actions to take to helpincrease the security of devices before holding a question and answer session.

Attendees went away feeling more confident, armed withthe knowledge and awareness necessary to be cyber secure.
